Minus Huynh is a Chinese Dutch photographer and visual artist, currently living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Minus was born in Saigon, Vietnam and at the age of five he and his parents moved to the Netherlands.
Influenced by elements of Dutch Masters from the Golden Age, Chinese colorful propaganda posters and Japanese woodblock prints, Minus enjoys creating pictures with a storytelling approach. Inspired by Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Hokusai, his work is a mixture of color, humor and alienation of space.
Depending on the project, Photoshop can be used as part of the process. Erasing the borderline between photography and Photoshop, Minus is creating a category of his own.
Minus has been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with the best equipment available. Hasselblad is considered to be the best camera and Broncolor is the leading light system.
Being comfortable on set and behind the camera, Minus has been working for celebrated brands and organizations such as KPN, MTV, Max Factor, KLM, National Geographic and the Rijksmuseum.
